Hey Fam!!! How are y'all doing? I hope all is well and the transition into this new year has been smooth and empowering. We all have at least liked a song from around the globe that we didn't know what it was about, but for some strange reason, we just enjoyed listening to it. Do you have at least one such song that you wouldn't mind sharing with us? You could also briefly state what the song is about. Thanks!!!

Here is mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERYY8GJ-i0I -- It's basically about longings felt by people who once knew or were close to one another, but experience separation as acquaintances are often forced to travel or go to new places in search of a better life.

I had a song that fits but I can't seem to find it now... It was a great tune from Ethiopia by an Ethiopian gospel singer about giving praise to God for helping to change her life from poverty to glory! Should I come across it - I will come back and post! Great idea by the way!

This is really nice I really like this! How funny it is that you posted this Shamslight. I happen to really like Brazillian music and the Portuguese language. As in matter of fact I am currently learning Portuguese right now. It's oming along slowly but I'm getting there.

I'll share a few international songs myself

Unforgettable Energy Of Freedom

This video is a music video from Georgia. The music normally isn't my style but it fits with the video quite well. I love the dancers and I especially love the traditional ethnic costumes that are worn by the people in this video.

Tuvan Throat Singing

I love throat singing. This piece here is done from a man from the Russian Republic of Tuva. The Tuvans are a Turko-Mongol ethnic group from southern Siberia. I love the music video that shows Tuvan life and the music gives a stronge sense of the Tuvan spirit. For some reason the Tuvans kind of remind of Native Americans.

Mongolian Throat Singing-Batzorig Vaanchig

Baba Yetu (The Lord's Prayer in Swahili)-Alex Boyé, BYU Men's Chorus & Philharmonic; Christopher Tin

I love African music. Once again it's music that has spirit and soul to it. Also something about the Swahili language is very invigorating.

Denez prigent & Lisa Gerrard - Gortoz a Ran

This is a Breton song. The song was made famous from a movie entitled Black Hawk Down. Many would guess that this is Scottish or Irish music but as in matter of fact Breton music is from the region of Brittany, France. The Bretons are Celts just like the Scottish, Irish, and Welsh but they aren't as well known.

乌兰托娅 套马杆(高清) A beautiful Chinese song!

I love this song as well. I've always liked Chinese music and while I prefer more traditional Chinese music I still really like this. I love the energy and uplifting spirit in the video.

Russian title: СКОЛЬЗКИЕ УЛИЦЫ  English title: Slippery Streets

I love Russian rock and this song tells a nice little love story. There is something about Russian songs that really gets me going. This song feels very organic and genuine to me. I can tell the singers and musicians really liked composing this song.

Prata Vetra - Maybe

A Latvian love song. It's another soft rock song. It's definitely a more western song but it's really sweet sounding.

The Rising of the Moon - Irish folk song

Irish song - Trasna na dTonnta

Báidín Fheilimí - Traditional Irish Song

Here is some Irish music. I've always been in love with traditional Irish music. Maybe it's because I'm of partial Irish descent it does something for me. I especially love songs in the Irish language.

Zeki Müren ^^Manolya^^

A Turkish song. I have to give credit to heartwip though for sharing this with me. It's a very good piece of middle eastern music.

Tere Bina - Guru | Aishwarya Rai Bachchan | Abhishek Bachchan

This is a really beautiful love song from a Bollywood film called Guru. It's based on a true story actually. I love how passionate and lovely the song sounds and I especially love the instrumental music that accompanies it.

João Bosco - Nação

Another upbeat Brazillian song

Superfly『Beautiful』Music Video

A Japanese song. This is a contemporary Japanese song. I adore the singer's voice and the instruments that accompany are very good as well. Japanese is another language I really like as well.

A beautiful Native American song that shows the spirit of a wonderful, authentic, and highly spiritual people

Another highly spiritual Native American song

Khuda Jaane - Bachna Ae Haseeno

Another Bollywood love song that I do so much enjoy. I also love the scenery and locations used in the music video.

I love Jackie Chan. A lot of people don't know he's actually a trained vocalist and his albums are very popular in China

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHDrHRmaQjQ - Anilah, Medicine Chant.

Created by a western Canadian (BC I think) lady who learned from a few native elders how to do the chanting music. I like that it has a lowish kind of earthy tone. No words. But moving to my soul.
