THREE NATURAL ALTERNATIVES FOR SKIN CARE AND BEAUTY!

Posted by AstralBooBaby on March 8, 2015 at 12:05 AM Comments comments (2)

Simple Alternative For The Control of Oily Skin, Acne, Blackheads and Blemishes!

All that is required for this healthier alternative in lieu of products filled with harsh chemicals would be a box of pure baking soda.

1. Simply tip a small amount of baking soda in the palm of your washed hands OR you may pour some on a napkin, towel or holder of your choice…

2. Take a cotton ball OR a clean make-up brush and dip into the baking soda and generously apply to face or where needed.

3. Gently brush off excess powder!

* Avoid getting baking soda in your eyes!

A Simple And Natural Alternative For Applying Eye-Lashes

Common glues that are used to apply false lashes can be toxic to skin, eyes and lashes but this natural alternative can save the day! Organic molasses!

What is needed for this tip is a glass or jar of black-strap or organic molasses. A very thin straw, clean brush or a tooth-pick

* If you choose to use a tooth pick; use at a 90 degree side-angle when applying molasses.

1. Simply pour a small amount of molasses on the back on your hand.

2. Take the straw, brush or tooth-pick and dip at a 90 degree angle the front end or tip of your respective tool to apply the molasses.

3. Apply a thin layer right on eye-lid, starting from the inner corner on out to the end of eye corner.

4. Fan eyes for a few seconds to make the application more sticky or tacky.

Gently apply lashes with fingers or tweezers. It is best to apply the lash from the corner of the eye but use your own way of applying. Once lashes are positioned the way you want them, gently apply pressure to secure lashes! Rinse remaining lashes off with clear water!

* Here’s the additional benefit of using molasses; your skin is absorbing the molasses on your lids and hand (even as you rinse them). As you beautify yourself naturally, your skin will absorb an extra boast of Calcium, Magnesium and Antioxidants, which molasses is very high in!

EASY LEMON AND SUGAR FACIAL

For this regimen, you will need;

One lemon

Oraganic or Raw sugar

A small patter or any flat surfaced container

A knife

*If you have long hair, be sure to pull your hair up and away from your face!

Use knife to dip out about the desired amount of sugar (use your own discernment as to how much sugar will be needed to cover your entire face and/or neck.

Cut lemon in half.

1. Take one-half of the lemon and place over the sugar and press firmly to collect the sugar to the lemon.

2. Take the lemon and sugar and press against the face as you gently squeeze the lemon to force out more lemon juice.

4. Repeat steps 1 and 2; apply it to forehead, cheeks, chin and both side and middle of neck (if desired).

5. Once you’ve applied the lemon and sugar in all desired areas, you are now ready to massage skin! Rub lemon and sugar all over the face (and neck) in a counter clock like fashion as you simultaneously squeeze the lemon to release more lemon juice.

6. Massage entire face and neck in this fashion for 3 to 4 minutes, rinse with clear water and pat dry! You will notice a difference in skin tone and texture right away!

*Side bar; this regimen can be used on hands, feet and wherever else you would like! Use your own discernment!

THE WINNER IN YOU

The Winner In You

By: ABB a.k.a. AstralBooBaby

It is no secret that life is filled with great challenges and set backs but there is a ‘little secret’ about you and your life that I would like to bring to ‘light’. The ‘little secret’ is that with each day that we muddle through, we are victorious! Hence, victories are not only tantamount to a singular defining moment but they are also successive ‘moments’ where courage, resilience, steadfastness, determination and willful focus is or has been applied! Whether you are consciously aware of this or not, we demonstrate all of the aforementioned characteristics and qualities to some degree, in order to just BE in this realm of ‘dense duality’ and ‘extreme limitation’.

Did you know that there are untold numbers of spirits and beings who would never agree to or opt to take on such feats? Yet, our ancestors, brothers and sisters from the unseen realms, watch, cheer and support us from the side-lines because they really do adore, admire and love us unconditionally! Yes, even non-physical beings love heroes and happy endings *smile* You have forgotten that you are a super star; a she-roe and hero in minds-eye of so many! You are a winner but I am taking this moment to remind you to never give up or stop acquiring your highly honorable badges, spiritual tags and stripes! There are many more experiences and challenges that awaits and will surely require the winner in you to amp up the stakes and play hard! When life throws you a curve ball and pushes you against the wall or knocks you down – take three deep breathes in through the nose and out through the mouth and GET UP and PUSH BACK! You have it within to push back harder and with every step you make against the tide, you’ll gain greater momentum, armor and tenacity to conquer future obstacles with greater ease and far less bumps and bruises! Every challenge and battle that we endure is preparing us for yet another definitive moment and reminder of who and what we truly are!

So the next time someone tells you that you can’t or shouldn't do something that you set out to do or want – remind them that you weren't built to accept their projection of failure and defeat! You smile and tell them sit back and watch your smoke and remind them to take a few notes while they are at it and apply what you teach them by example! The next time you are faced with a dilemma that overwhelms or causes you to feel down and distressed, get into the ‘eye of that inner storm’ and neutralize it from inside out KNOWING that you have a ray of sunshine that will always brighten the darkest of times! You show and tell those who project bitter lies, hate, envy, disdain and jealousy that their ‘malicious strikes’ is no match for your ‘ubiquitous stripes’! Show and tell all of those who wish to see you fall, that you are the master of your destiny because you already have the spiritual armor and credentials to support your declaration! Indeed, you are victorious time and time again and I would like to take this moment to salute and congratulate the WINNER that you are and will continue to be!

THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF EXPRESSION

The Importance of Genuine Self Expression

By: ABB a.k.a. astralboobaby

I see it everyday; people walking around wearing a smile to mask their discontentment, pain, sadness and depression. One of the most consistent and glaring reason for such a state is because so many are forging a life that is not of their purest devotion, intent and expression. For many people, living an authentic life can be a real ‘catch-22’. Why? It is because living an 'authentic life' of our design, strikes up ‘fear’ of the potential repercussions, which can be just as psychologically and energetically debilitating as it is to exist in-authentically. What is one to do in such a situation? Well, the answer is certainly a lot simpler than it actually is to put into action but in gist, we have to listen to and follow our heart! How to listen to your heart, you may be asking? By sitting still, quieting the mind and pay attention to the purest surges of thought and energetic impressions! Pay attention to where your imagination leads and repetitiously feed you. Do you find yourself visualizing and fantasizing about a life and expression that you strongly feel would be liberating, purposeful and meaningful to you? If so, that’s your heart speaking to you! Do you find yourself behaving and expressing yourself in a way that ‘flows’ when you are alone in a private space or in the presence of your closest friend, companion or confident? Well, this is another fine example of you expressing from the heart!

I have observed and learned from my own path that the suppression of one’s ‘natural flow’ WILL inevitably create disturbances and imbalances - bio-chemically and spiritually. The bio-chemical blockages often lead to depression, anxiety, radical mood swings, sadness and even suicidal thoughts. The spiritual blockages, can magnetize and/or attract ‘in-authentic’ people and situations, as well as create blockages in the heart chakra and weaken one’s aura (which could lead to a plethora of other challenges). Lets not forget that we are like mirrors and magnets to one another and whatever we project and cultivate - this WILL be what we attract! Being authentic may not always garner one popularity and high favor in the material and social sense of reality but it can generate dignity, respect, honor, integrity and spiritual clarity. All of the aforementioned qualities is what builds character and inspire and encourage others to step into their own unique expression!

'Each one of us are uniquely made; so why ignore or deny the reason for one's unique purpose for BEing?'

As I often say, we are far more ‘fluid’ than meets the eye and when we are emotionally and energetically holding back on what comes most naturally, we are slow down our bountiful flow and become 'denser' in every sense of the word… So, I say to you – now is the time to make a choice... Are we going to remove the masks and step in our role as courageous beacons of light and way-showers or are we going to continue, allowing fear of the unknown and the opinions, expectations, dictates of others manipulate us into creating and co-creating more of what we don’t like or want? I don’t know about you but I have chosen to express myself in a myriad of ways that comes most authentically and all things considering, I am doing just fine. If I can do it -- surely YOU CAN.

Immeasurable love, always!

SUBSTANCE ABUSE MUCH HIGHER AMONG PEOPLE WITH PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS

Posted by SheOnAnotherLevel on June 17, 2014 at 4:10 AM Comments comments (5)

New research from the Washington University School of Medicine has revealed that compared with the general population, alcohol, tobacco and drug use is much higher among individuals who have psychotic disorders.

This is according to a study published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry.

The research team, including first author Dr. Sarah M. Hartz, says their research is the largest ever study that assesses substance use among populations with serious psychiatric illness.

To reach their findings, the investigators analyzed the smoking, drinking and drug use of 20,000 participants.

More than 10,000 of the participants were free of mental illness, while 9,142 had been diagnosed with either schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder (characterized by hallucinations and delusions) or mood disorders, including depression.

Among participants with mental illness, 75% were smokers

A new study has found that alcohol, tobacco and drug use is

significantly higher in people with psychiatric disorders,

compared with the general population.

From this, the team found that 30% of participants with severe psychiatric disorders were binge drinkers - defined as consuming four servings of alcoholic beverages at one time. The researchers note that the binge drinking rate of the general population is around 8%.

The results also revealed that over 75% of participants with psychiatric disorders were regular smokers, compared with 33% of participants without mental illness.

Furthermore, around 50% of participants with mental illness demonstrated a heavy use of marijuana. Marijuana use of the general population is approximately 18%, according to the researchers.

Around 50% of participants with psychiatric illness used other illicit drugs. Recreational drug use in the general population is approximately 12%, the researchers note.

The investigators say their findings are of great concern, since people with serious psychiatric illness are more likely to die around 12-25 years earlier than individuals without mental illness.

"They don't die from drug overdoses or commit suicide - the kinds of things you might suspect in severe psychiatric illness. They die from heart disease and cancer, problems caused by chronic alcohol and tobacco use."

Patients 'need more encouragement' to curb substance use

Findings from the study also opposed previous research, revealing that factors including race and gender do not have their "typical influence" once a person develops a mental illness.

Dr. Hartz explains that when it comes to smoking, rates have decreased in the general population over the last few decades. She notes that individuals over the age of 50 are much more likely to have been regular smokers at some point during their lives, compared with younger people.

But their study findings revealed that among individuals who suffer from mental illness, the smoking rate is over 75%, regardless of their age.

Dr. Hartz says their results raise the question as to whether more focus on helping patients with mental illness to reduce their alcohol, tobacco and drug use would extend their life span.

She believes that health care professionals should "do a better job" of encouraging their mentally ill patients to stop using these substances.

"Some studies have shown that although we psychiatrists know that smoking, drinking and substance use are major problems among the mentally ill, we often don't ask our patients about those things," she says.

"We can do better, but we also need to develop new strategies because many interventions to reduce smoking, drinking and drug use that have worked in other patient populations don't seem to be very effective in these psychiatric patients."

Medical News Today recently reported on a study suggesting that drug addicts are able to quit smoking if additional therapy is offered to them.

A 'MESSAGE' ABOUT 'MESSENGERS'

Posted by AstralBooBaby on December 16, 2013 at 11:10 PM Comments comments (6)

Someone had recently sent an email to my attention, stating that they had seen a video by a well-known self-identified messenger on Youtube. He had expressed in his email letter, that this person had done a vlog, warning and telling of a conspiracy by the 'global rulers' to make people gay by way of chemical warfare -- through the water and food supply. The young man stated that the person who had presented this message, also stated that those who are gay, will go down and 'perish' right along with those who devised and executed such a plan. The person who had written me, stated that 'he' is a 19 year old, self-identified gay male. He had expressed in his email of how terrible, hurt, sad he felt after hearing this message. He had also told me that after watching such a video, he found a video that I had done about loving ourselves unconditionally and the message within this video made him feel better about himself (fine example of synchronicity). In the closing of His email message; this young man stated that he’s feeling very confused and out of balance. He doesn’t know what to believe or what path to take as it relates to his sexual orientation?

When I read this person’s email, I felt their hurt and confusion very strongly. I don’t think that some messengers (be they appointed or self-identified) take into account, the magnitude that their message can have on some people; especially impressionable minds. I had addressed this young man’s concerns more directly and my advice on ways to navigate through this life with the ‘burden and cross’ that he bares (so to speak). This young man’s email letter inspired to write this blog as a reminder to everyone; please put your discernment frames on and remember to ‘feel’ a message from your core and not with the ego or personality that you are temporarily using to experience this reality. I would also like to make everyone a little more mindful of who and what a messenger is and how ‘some’ of them may distort their message (be it consciously or unconsciously). First of all, a messenger may have valuable information and knowledge but a messenger doesn’t necessarily have wisdom. Hence, some people may not have the level of awareness or consciousness to ‘wisely’ execute their message in the most effective way but of course, they are growing and learning still as well. Hence, no messenger is perfect and NO messenger’s ‘message’ is perfect for everyone.

Here’s another layer to the ‘messengers’ that I would like everyone to always keep in mind… For one – all messengers are not representatives for all of society, although some may think or believe that they are. This is because everyone on earth is not here from the same soul-group; we are not ALL on earth under and for the same circumstances, agenda or purpose. The few things that we all have in common no matter what our reasons for being here, is that we either ‘fell’ or agreed to ‘descend’ downward to exist here… Again, we are not here under the same situations. Most messengers are here for their children or family members of their respective soul-groups but in their minds, they may think or believe that the message that they have is for everyone.

The other layer to some messengers is that sometimes, they will deliver a message with their prejudices and biases still in the mix! I am speaking of the ego-conscious levels that they had prior to them supposedly ‘waking up’ or becoming ‘conscious’. Hence, they are delivering the message from their egos and not, the heart of the messages themselves… I have seen some pretty effective and charismatic messengers, prophets and the likes, using their platform to exalt their own prejudices and bias towards a particular race, group, gender, etc. When a messenger takes a public platform, her/his job is not to attack, demonize and make a judgment call about a person or group. They are there to bring information that should lead one towards ‘remembrance’, ‘enlightenment’, ‘self-love’ and ‘self-determination’… The greatest messenger, prophet, deity or leader in history; the one that many call Jesus, did not verbally attack or make public judgments about those who are lost, scared and confused. In fact, he hung out with the outcast and misfits of His time because he too was one but still, he didn’t distort his messages from an inflated-ego – he did it through wisdom and unconditional love… He is most known for showing understanding, consideration and compassion where it mattered but handed down a ‘heavy fist’ if and when the time came to do so.

In closing, I wish to add that there are those who claim to be a messenger or prophet but are nothing more than an agent for a group who seeks to deceive, mislead, manipulate and confuse. I will not cite any specific person or group, who I feel is guilty of this but I will say again; let’s work on our discernment muscles and if we come across a ‘messenger’ whose ‘message’ does not resonate with you OR their message makes you feel terrible, sad or depressed – their ‘message’ IS NOT for you or applicable to you! As I often state; take whatever resonates and leave everything else behind, even this ‘message’ (pun intended) :)

THE POWER OF DANCE

Posted by AstralBooBaby on October 31, 2013 at 10:45 AM Comments comments (1)

Whenever I am feeling ‘out of balance’ in anyway, shape or form – I go the extra mile to connect with nature; do affirmations; fast; detox and put on some high-vibratory music and just dance! Any form of aggressive physical activity, is a form of exercise and we will certainly burn calories as the result but this is not the main reason why I am bringing our attention to the power of dance…

Whenever I dance, I can actually feel every cell in my body come alive! Of course my heart rate is accelerated, which forces me to breath more intensely and those healthy endorphins surge my brain and gives me the equivalent to a ‘natural’ high!

I’ve also found that I just ‘know’ more of the things that I am focused on after a nice and passionate moment of dancing… I am more creative and filled with more ingenuity than I would before hand. And let me tell you, when I lie myself down to rest for the day – I often get my best sleep and most interesting dreams and astral travel. I have long since understood the physical, mental and even spiritual benefits of dance! So as I’ve asked in one of my youtube videos of the past; Low vibes? Ok, lets dance! DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!

Below is a link to a very good article by Lauren Healey, relating to this subject matter. I love to read and share different views and perspectives on just about everything! Therefore, in the spirit of the aforementioned – please ‘read’ and take ‘heed!’

QUICK & EASY FULL BODY DETOX

Posted by AstralBooBaby on October 7, 2013 at 7:25 AM Comments comments (4)

No matter how well we eat, we are all susceptible to toxins due to the air we breathe; chemicals and additives that are added to the foods we eat and so on. Therefore, it is very important that we give ourselves periodic full body detoxification. A good full body detox will not only purify, cleanse and balance our bodies but they will help us to maintain good health and help to raise our vibrations in the process. With that said, I would like to share another simple detoxification mix that I have been using for awhile now. It has helped me and I am sure that if applied, it can and will help you too!

Here are the ingredients you will need;

Lemons

1 bottle of grounded cayenne pepper

1 Jar or container of pure molasses

Fresh Clean Water

Baking Soda

INSTRUCTIONS -

1. Pour Spring or fresh clean water into an 8 oz. glass

2. Cut 1 lemon in half and wrap up the other half to use for later

3. Squeeze all of the juice and as much of the pulp out of the lemon into the glass of water

4. Add 1 tablespoon of molasses

5. Add a half of teaspoon of cayenne pepper

6. Add a pinch of baking soda to balance alkaline levels

Vigorously stir and drink on an empty ‘morning’ stomach and repeat the process in the afternoon. During your detoxification, do not eat anything in between the morning and afternoon. For maximum detoxification results, you may want to commit to this process and system for an entire week.

For good measure, I have listed the health benefits of each main ingredient;

LEMONS

1. Lemons are alkalizing for the body: Lemons are acidic to begin with but they are alkaline-forming on body fluids helping to restore balance to the body’s pH.

2. Lemons are rich in vitamin C and flavonoids that work against infections like the flu and colds.

3. Your liver loves lemons: “The lemon is a wonderful stimulant to the liver and is a dissolvent of uric acid and other poisons, liquefies the bile,” says Jethro Kloss in his book Back to Eden. Fresh lemon juice added to a large glass of water in the morning is a great liver detoxifier.

4. Cleans your bowels: Lemons increase peristalsis in the bowels, helping to create a bowel movement thus eliminating waste and helping with regularity. Add the juice of one lemon to warm water and drink first thing in the morning.

5. Scurvy is treated by giving one to two ounces of lemon juice diluted with water every two to four hours. In 1747, a naval surgeon named James Lind cured scurvy with fresh lemons. To this day, the British Navy requires ships to carry enough lemons so that every sailor could have one ounce of juice a day. In the past, lemons were replaced with limes; this is where the English got their nickname “limeys.” Watch this video: “Scurvy Pirates and the Lemon of Love”

6. The citric acid in lemon juice helps to dissolve gallstones, calcium deposits, and kidney stones.

7. Vitamin C in lemons helps to neutralize free radicals linked to aging and most types of disease.

8. The lemon peel contains the potent phytonutrient tangeretin, which has been proven to be effective for brain disorders like Parkinson’s disease.

9. In India, Ayurveda medicine values the lemon as a fruit and for its properties. It is sour, warm, promoter of gastric fire, light, good for vision, pungent and astringent.

10. It destroys intestinal worms.

11. When there is insufficient oxygen and difficulty in breathing (such as when mountain climbing) lemons are very helpful. The first man to reach the top of Mt. Everest, Edmund Hillary, said that his success on Mt. Everest was greatly due to lemons.

12. Lemons have powerful antibacterial properties; experiments have found the juice of lemons destroy the bacteria of malaria, cholera, diphtheria, typhoid and other deadly diseases.

13. Blood vessels are strengthened by the vitamin P (bioflavinoids) in lemon thus prevents internal hemorrhage. Also, making it useful in treating high blood pressure.

14. The symptoms of eye disorders, including diabetic retinopathy have been shown in research to improve due to the rutin, found in lemons.

15. Lemons contain 22 anti-cancer compounds, including naturally occurring limonene; oil which slows or halts the growth of cancer tumors in animals and flavonol glycosides which stop cell division in cancer cells.

16. According to The Reams Biological Ionization Theory (RBTI), the lemon is the ONLY food in the world that is anionic (an ion with a negative charge). All other foods are cationic (the ion has a positive charge.) This makes it extremely useful to health as it is the interaction between anions and cations that ultimately provides all cell energy.

CAYENNE PEPPER

1. Anti-Irritant Properties

Cayenne has the ability to ease upset stomach, ulcers, sore throats, spasmodic and irritating coughs, and diarrhea

2. Anti-Cold and Flu Agent

Cayenne pepper aids in breaking up and moving congested mucus. Once mucus begins to leave the body, relief from flu symptoms generally follows.

3. Anti-Fungal Properties

The results of one study indicated that cayenne pepper could effectively prevent the formation of the fungal pathogens phomopsis and collectotrichum [1].

4. Migraine Headache Prevention

This may be related to the pepper’s ability to stimulate a pain response in a different area of the body, thus reverting the brain’s attention to the new site. Following this initial pain reaction, the nerve fibers have a depleted substance P (the nerve’s pain chemical), and the perception of pain is lessened.

5. Anti-Allergen

Cayenne is an anti- agent and may even help relieve allergies.

6. Digestive Aid

Cayenne is a well-known digestive aid. It stimulates the digestive tract, increasing the flow of enzyme production and gastric juices. This aids the body’s ability to metabolize food (and toxins). Cayenne pepper is also helpful for relieving intestinal gas. It stimulates intestinal peristaltic motion, aiding in both assimilation and elimination.

7. Anti-Redness Properties

Cayenne’s properties makes it a great herb for many chronic and degenerative conditions.

8. Helps Produce Saliva

Cayenne stimulates the production of saliva, an important key to excellent digestion and maintaining optimal oral health.

9. Useful for Blood Clots

Cayenne pepper also helps reduce atherosclerosis, encourages fibrinolytic activity and prevents factors that lead to the formation of blood clots, all of which can help reduce the chances of a heart attack or stroke.

10. Detox Support

Cayenne is a known circulatory stimulant. It also increases the pulse of our lymphatic and digestive rhythms. By heating the body, the natural process of detoxification is streamlined. Cayenne also causes us to sweat, another important process of detoxification. Combined with lemon juice and honey, cayenne tea is an excellent morning beverage for total body detox.

11. Joint-Pain Reliever

Extremely high in a substance called capsaicin, cayenne pepper acts to cause temporary pain on the skin, which sends chemical messengers from the skin into the joint, offering relief for joint pain.

12. Anti-Bacterial Properties

Cayenne is an excellent preservative and has been used traditionally to prevent food contamination from bacteria.

13. Possible Anti-Cancer Agent

Studies done at the Loma Linda University in California found that cayenne pepper may help prevent lung cancer in smokers [2]. This may be again related to cayenne’s high quantity of capsaicin, a substance that might help stop the formation of tobacco-induced lung tumors. Other studies have also shown a similar reaction in cayenne’s resistance to liver tumors.

14. Supports Weight Loss

Scientists at the Laval University in Quebec found that participants who took cayenne pepper for breakfast were found to have less appetite, leading to less caloric intake throughout the day. Cayenne is also a great metabolic-booster, aiding the body in burning excess amounts of fats.

15. Promotes Heart-Health

Cayenne helps to keep blood pressure levels normalized. It also balances the body of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.

16. Remedy for Toothache

Cayenne is an excellent agent against tooth and gum diseases.

17. Topical Remedy

As a poultice, cayenne has been used to treat snake bites, rheumatism, sores, wounds and lumbago.

MOLASSES

1. Cancer Prevention

Anecdotal evidence and numerous testimonials suggest that blackstrap molasses may play a role in cancer prevention and the treatment of certain types of cancer. Its dense nutritional profile supports these claims, however scientific research and clinical trials are not available to confirm. The high calcium content of blackstrap suggests that it may be useful in preventing and treating colon cancer. It has also been associated with shrinking cancerous tumors.

Some health officials are weary of molasses for cancer treatment due to its high iron and sugar content, which is believed to enable cancer proliferation. Some testimonials have suggested combining blackstrap molasses with baking soda for cancer to good effect.

2. Antioxidant Protection

Blackstrap molasses is an excellent source of the antioxidant manganese, providing about 27.5% the DV per tablespoon. Manganese helps the body fight free radical damage to cells and DNA. Foods with great antioxidant protection are believed to help prevent cancer and heart disease and may also slow the effects of aging.

3. Energy Production

Blackstrap molasses can offer a temporary energy boost by providing carbohydrates that are quickly converted into energy in the body. More importantly, it can aid energy production because it helps replenish the body's storage of iron. Iron plays a vital role in energy production, transporting oxygen in the blood. Iron deficiency can lead to fatigue and energy hindering conditions like anemia, which seriously inhibit energy levels. Blackstrap molasses also provides vitamin B6, which plays a key role in energy production.

4. Bone Health

Blackstrap molasses provides many of the daily nutrients needed to help keep the bones healthy and strong, including iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese and copper. Maintaining a recommended daily allowance of these minerals can greatly reduce the risk of osteoporosis and other diseases of the bone.

5. Heart Health

Blackstrap molasses provides many of the vitamins and minerals needed to maintain good heart health and reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular disease. These include manganese, magnesium, copper, calcium, potassium and vitamin B6. Together these nutrients can help treat blood clotting, reducing the risk of stroke, lower blood pressure and fight oxidative stress and inflammation to the cardiovascular system.

6. Colon Health

Blackstrap molasses is a very good source of calcium, which helps cleanse the colon of toxins. Calcium is often associated with a reduced risk of colon cancer.

7. High In Iron

Just one tablespoon of blackstrap molasses provides nearly 20% of the DV of iron. Iron deficiency is associated with many different conditions, including dizziness, fatigue, hair loss, irritability and anemia. Iron is particularly important for women during menstruation. Iron plays a critical role in blood and cell function and is essential to energy production. It also helps the body fight off infections, supports brain and muscle function and help improves immunity.

8. Very Good Source of Potassium

One tablespoon of blackstrap molasses provides about 14.5% the DV of potassium. Potassium is essential to maintaining good cardiovascular health and improving bone density. It can help keep blood pressure low, supports proper carbohydrate metabolism and can help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and osteoporosis. Potassium deficiency is also associated with an increased risk of arthritis.

9. Very Good Source of Calcium

Calcium is not only essential to maintaining healthy bones and teeth, but plays a vital role in colon health, heart health, blood clotting, brain nerve activity and muscle function. Just one tablespoon will provide over 17% the DV of calcium.

10. Good Source of Selenium

Blackstrap molasses is a good source of selenium, providing about 5% of the DV per tablespoon. Selenium plays a key role in thyroid function, antioxidant protection, cancer prevention, cardiovascular health and inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Selenium deficiency can lead to these and other health conditions.

11. Good Source of Vitamin B6

One tablespoon of blackstrap molasses provides 7.5% the DV of vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is needed for the immunity, the nervous system, cell formation, blood health and energy production. It is also believed to have anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties.

12. Alternative Sweetener

Blackstrap molasses can sweeten food without many of the negative side effects of regular sugar and artificial sweeteners. It is very low on the glycemic index and appears to be a healthier option for diabetic and pre-diabetic people, requiring very little insulin production and altering blood sugar levels far less than regular cane sugar. It is also rich with vital nutrients, where cane sugar offers only fattening carbohydrates.

13. Weight Loss

Blackstrap molasses provides many vitamins and minerals and boosts energy while containing zero fat and very few calories. This makes it a healthy alternative to sugar and a good addition to an active, low fat weight loss program.

14. Stomach & Digestive Problems

Anecdotal evidence suggests that blackstrap molasses may help with stomach and digestive problems. Testimonials claim that it can help to soothe stomach aches, help to cure stomach ulcers and may be useful in treating irritable bowel and other digestive conditions, including constipation and diarrhea.

15. Skin Health

Misunderstood? How to Let Go of the Need to Explain Yourself by Manal Ghosain

Recently, I had a conversation with a friend about a tax referendum. When my friend asked me to explain my position, I expressed my thoughts in at least four main points. We then moved on to other topics of conversation.

To my surprise, a few days later, I got a message from him stating that he thought my view on the issue was disconcerting and went on refuting what he described as my view on the subject.

As I continued to read, my anger level started to rise. What he was talking about was not what I had said. He took my words out of context and formed an entire argument by focusing on one point that taken in isolation may seem moot. This of course opened the door for what appeared to me to be a lecture about government practices.

I was furious by the time I was done reading. My first instinct was to fire a response back and try to explain my position with a few insults about manipulating my words for good measure. But I didn’t; I resisted the temptation.

Instead, I did a session of free writing. I wrote without stopping and took everything out of my system. I said some nasty stuff in there, but in the process I was able to express my feelings and then find out why I felt the way I did and how I could move forward.

Here is what I found out after spending some time writing and processing.

Thoughts and feelings about being misunderstood

It’s not your view. It’s theirs.

The first thing that came to mind was that what was written in the message wasn’t my opinion. It was my friend’s view of my opinion–through his own filters and perspective. It had nothing to do with me or what I said.

Had I tried to explain my position further, he would’ve still picked on what he wanted to hear and not necessarily what I wanted to say.

The feelings behind being misunderstood

I felt angry that I was misunderstood. I felt that my friend should’ve given me the benefit of the doubt. I thought he knew me better than that.

After more writing, I realized that my feelings of anger and not wanting to be misunderstood were based in fear. I felt afraid that I was perceived as not smart enough, rational enough or politically informed enough.

As you know feeding the fear monster only makes it bigger. Trying to explain the issue might deal with this situation, but then what? Do I need to do the same thing every time I feel misunderstood?

Seeking validation

After reflecting on my fears, I realized that—to me—being understood means being appreciated or at least accepted. Validation is another elusive goal that the more you seek it, the less you feel it. It’s a trap.

The desire for control

I also realized that my feelings about being misunderstood came from wanting to control the outcome of the discussion as it related to me. I expected my friend to understand my words the way I conveyed them and not the way he perceived them. Wanting to control the outcome is a recipe for pain.

How do you move past being misunderstood?

After processing my findings above, I came up with the following pointers. I hope you find them beneficial.

1. You have the right to respond but not the obligation.

You always have the right to express your opinion and discuss an issue further. But only if it serves a purpose and helps you move forward. You also have the right not to engage and not respond at all.

2. Realize that others’ views of your opinions don’t diminish your worth.

You are who you are and you’re entitled to your thoughts and views. Your opinions are not who you are. They are the position you hold at this moment, which may change subsequently.

3. It’s okay to be misunderstood.

The newspapers and tabloids thrive on misquoting and manipulating words. In our daily interactions, others will take what they’ll take from the conversations. There is nothing you can do about it. And if they don’t like what you have to say, so be it.

4. Feel the emotions without rationalization.

As much as we’d like to think that we humans are a rational species, we are not. We’re highly emotional and a lot of what we say or do is driven by emotions.

You can waste all the time in the world trying to understand why someone misconstrued what you said. In all likelihood, what you expressed triggered a defensive response in them. It has nothing to do with you. So focus on how you feel.

Also, realize the more important the person to you, the higher the emotional charge. Don’t try to argue with how you feel.

You may feel angry, upset, fearful, disappointed, hurt, betrayed or any other emotion. Allow—feel and then feel some more. Write about your feelings; meditate on them, or just sit quietly and allow them to go through you. Take your time—there is no shortcut for releasing your emotions.

5. Write an imaginary response.

If you feel you need to express more of your thoughts and feelings write them in a letter. What would you say to the person who you feel wronged you? Write what you would want to tell them and how the interaction made you feel.

There is an amazing release that comes from putting thoughts and words to paper. This is what I did and I felt much better after.

6. Sleep on it.

If you decide you want to respond and you want to discuss the issue further, don’t do it right away. Think about what you want to say and maybe even draft a response as mentioned above. Give yourself a few days.

You will be surprised by how fast you may cool off and change your mind. In all likelihood, you will dismiss the issue and move on.

For me I decided the best approach was not to send a response. Later I talked to my friend and we never mentioned taxes. It worked out.

7. Let it go.

After all is said and done, let the whole issue go. Don’t hold a grudge or keep bringing it up. You don’t want to add fuel to a fire in your heart.

If the other person was not happy with your decision, it’s their problem not yours. You cannot satisfy someone who is adamant about

having an argument. Do yourself a big favor and don’t engage in further discussion.

Sometimes the best opinions are the ones that remain unexpressed. You know who you are and what you stand for. Instead of engaging in trying to explain and validate your opinions, move on and do something that is more meaningful to you.

Letting go is freedom. You can’t force anyone to see your point of view. However, you can drop the issue and let go. It’s always in your hands

KNOWING AND OWNING YOUR UNIVERSAL WORTH

Posted by AstralBooBaby on August 5, 2013 at 9:30 AM Comments comments (6)

I often say at the end of my videos “continue to question, learn and grow” because we are all still evolving works in progress, regardless of how much we know or ‘think’ we know. I really do challenge myself to learn something every day of my life. In fact, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t learn something about the world, people; the cosmos or myself… This not only expands my mind and awareness but this keeps me motivated to exist on a planet that I still feel like an outsider to. There are many things that I have gone through over the past 2 or so years that had put me on the rollercoaster ride of my life.

As many of you already know, I am an intuitive and empath and the inherent sensitivity that comes along with this ability makes all forms of energy work, 10 times more intense! There are only two (2) people in my life, my sister and very best friend who have witnessed, knew of and know about the things that I have endured (both past and present). I would always push through my challenges, pressures, trials and tribulations wearing a smile on my face, when deep down inside, I may well be feeling and having things going on or happening to me, that is nothing to smile about. Yet still, I would push aside my authentic feelings and thoughts developed from a lifetime of a ‘habit’ that I’ve developed very early in life. The ‘habit’ previously mentioned is this: consistently putting the wants, thoughts, feelings and needs of others before and in lieu of my own. Now some people may say or think that this is a ‘good thing’ because it’s a sign of one who is very unselfish but being one who has lived this way, for as far back as I can remember, I will attest that having this state of mind can definitely be a detriment.

As one who realizes that just about everything that happens in our lives is being created or magnified by our own thoughts, energies and/or life path’s agreement; I have finally grasped something that one of my closest friends have been saying to me for years… She would always say to me; ‘you need to start knowing your value and worth because you ‘deserve’ so much more than you are allowing or realize’… Unbeknownst to me, she was speaking of the law of allowance… I’ve known this particular friend for a long time and she has been one who has consistently told me that I give away far, far, too much of myself, time and energy without any thought or consideration of the inner-imbalance I was creating as the result. She has heard of and know of the guilt and hurt that I would feel when I am not able to help or do for others (strangers or otherwise) who are in need … Somehow, I would take on the thought that I am responsible for the happiness of all who cross my path or sought direction or help from me. Why was I doing this?

What’s the root of these extreme cases of unselfishness ? The answer to this rhetorical question didn’t hit me until very recently and that my inner-child; the one who had endured years of systematic sexual, emotional and psychological abuse… He wants to rescue everyone in pain or in need because no one rescued him from his pain and long suffering! Yes! This all stems from my own projection onto others, whose pain and suffering that I see or feel. That inner-child cannot and could not accept His value because He was taught and made to feel that he deserved nothing but pain, abandonment and other’s taking advantage of Him. He believed that he deserved nothing that would bring him true happiness, wealth and abundance! I understand that pain and suffering are the elements that creates energy streams of compassion and empathy but where do I or we begin setting boundaries and drawing lines?

I’ve said it before and I will state it again; we are living in a time where we are all being forced to face and deal with our inner demons, struggles, secrets and shame. The energy shift on the planet is forcing it all to the surface and no one is exempt from having some residuals, be it from their present life or past life… Many will resist their energy clearing work but resistance will only make 'toiling in the fields' (so to speak) all the more painful and turbulent! You see family and friends, in the past two years or so, I have resisted my own clearing work in many ways because I continued to denounce and ignore my own value and worth! The aforementioned is not a statement of arrogance or ego – this realization comes from a lifetime of trials - tribulations and error!

Even considering all of what I have just shared, I am still one of the most unselfish people that I know and this will not change, but  what will change is the frequency and velocity in which I give of myself.

All of the things that we ‘must get’ but ‘won’t get’ will come to the surface whether we want it to or not. Our outer world will attract, create and magnify our residual imbalances, not as a form of punishment but an opportunity for us to ‘deal and heal’… Given that many people who walk the ‘authentic’ spiritual path tend to be people who do not recognize that they or we ‘deserve’ wealth, happiness and anything our hearts desire – I especially want you all to heed my message… KNOW and OWN your worth!

Some people and ‘special interest groups’ have conditioned and taught the world over, that in order to be ‘really spiritual’ we should basically be broke, destitute and work for free, for the benefit of others 24/7 (a slave). When we believe and accept this way of thinking; we create this reality for ourselves! How many of those who teach these things, who happen to be religious or of the worldly influence, live a life of being broke, destitute and giving themselves ‘freely’ 24/7? The religious communities have billions of supporters all over the world… They have resources and billions in monetary means (mostly through offerings and donations) that 'allows' them the power to purchase and create programs, campaigns and build venues to fellow-ship, recruit and expand their ministry to no end, but why hasn’t the spiritual community done anything remotely close to this scale?

These communities roll into abundance because they’ve given themselves the ‘allowance’ to have abundance and their supporters accept and respond accordingly… There is nothing wrong with tapping into this universal right but there is definitely something wrong with teaching the spiritual community; those who suffer and are marginalized the most, that wanting the same things that they have and take for granted is egotistical, selfish or a sign of 'in-authenticity'!

Some people tend to see someone such as myself as one who has it all figured out, not because I have ever stated this about myself - I am 'realistic' enough to comprehend that this is not, nor will ever be the case for me or anyone else having a human experience... On the contrary, I have publicly stated that I too am still learning and growing and what I have just shared with you in this blog, is just another lesson learned the hard way – I ‘deserve’ real peace, happiness and abundance because this is the Almighty Creator ‘s decree for US ALL.

Many of the oppressive and MANipulative forces around us have figured this out and they revel in their abundance but we who have been conditioned or abused to a point of submission have yet to tap into ours.... We must really ‘grasp this’concept! The Almighty Creator energy force cannot or will not ‘make us’ see our worth and value – we must come to this ULTRAstanding on our own time and accord. So, if you haven't begun seeing all of what I have shared in this regard, let us begin doing so right now!
